Tamil Day 2022

The students of the Primary School along with the Rev. Sister Principal, Vice Principals and the teachers of Primary School organized a birthday celebration for our dearest Deputy Principal and the Principal of the Primary School Rev. Sr. Mayondika Fernando.

Our little ones performed many items in singing and dancing as a tribute to our dear sister. Happy Birthday dear sister. May the good Lord bless you with good health to carry out his mission for many more years to come.

"We thank our God, Each time we think of her. And when we pray for her, we pray with joy."

Birthday celebrations were organized today at school to share the joy. We thank the Good Lord for the gift of life given to our loving sister.

332 students of Convent of Our Lady of Victories, St. Sebastian's Church Sunday School, and some adults of the Moratuwa parish received the sacrament of confirmation on Saturday the 20th of August 2022. The Holy mass was presided over by the Auxiliary Bishop of Colombo Rt. Rev. Dr. J. D Anthony and concelebrated by the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Jude Raj Fernando and the Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Asela Mario. 

We thank all the sisters, teachers and the catechists of the Sunday school who helped in various ways to make this day a success.

ප්‍රතිභාපූර්ණ කලා ශිල්පිනී දමිතා අබේරත්න මහත්මියගේ මුලසුන හෙබවීමෙන් සාර ප්‍රඥා 2022 ඇරඹිණ. පාසල් කලා සංගමයේ අප්‍රතිහත මහන්සිය තුළින් මෙකී කලා මංගල්‍යය සමස්ත පාසල් කලා කෙතටම වස්සාන අසිරියක් ගෙනෙන්නට සමත් විය.

138 Little Victorians received their First Holy Communion in the Convent Chapel on the 2nd of July 2022. Rev. Fr. Jude Raj Fernando, the Parish Priest of St. Sebastian’s Church Moratuwa was the Chief Celebrant at the Holy Mass. Rev. Bro. Ashantha Nirmana assisted him.

We are grateful to Grade 4 class teachers and the teachers of English, Mrs. Subhashini Silva, Mrs. Shirani Fonseka, Mrs. Inoka Fernando, Mrs. Dinuka Cooray Wijewarnasooriya, Mrs. Dilrukshi Fernando, Mrs. Judy Vas, Mrs. Lakshika Cooray and Ms. Shenuka Fernando who trained the first holy communicants.

We also appreciate the support given by Mrs. Sulari Hettiarachchi and Ms. Randika Fernando, the teachers in charge of the choir and Mrs. Savindra Fernando, Ms. Hashmarine Fernando and Mrs. Sathya Rodrigo for training the junior western band. Rev. Sr. Stella Sebastian, Mrs. Kumudika Perera and Ms. Eshani Fernando supported the teachers with decorations.

74th Independence Day Celebration

We commemorated the 74th National Independence Day in school today. The Principal, Rev. Sr. Chamila Fernando hoisted the National flag and the National anthem was sung. 

Three speeches were delivered by a student, a teacher and the Principal. Students were given the opportunity to listen to a few patriotic songs. The programme concluded with a prayer for our motherland.

Street Drama

We gathered in front of the Principal’s office and commemorated 73 years of independence of our Nation on the 3rd of February 2021. The day’s proceedings commenced with a prayer. The national flag was hoisted by the Principal, Rev. Sr. Chamila Fernando and the national anthem was sung. A speech was delivered by the Deputy Head Prefect Supuni Fernando. Mrs. Sathya Fernando, a member of the academic staff also delivered a speech. The celebration concluded with the Principal’s address. 

The Investiture ceremony of the board of prefects 2021 was held on Thursday 28th January  in the school  Chapel. The chief  celebrant of the ceremonial Mass was Rev. Fr. Jude Raj Fernando. It was a solemn occasion with a few participants
